CAPA Pain Talks is a series of videos about living and managing chronic pain - a key symptom of living with rheumatic disease.
On May 4th, 2024, in collaboration with the University of British Columbia, Arthritis Research Canada, and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research we held Part One of our Cafe Scientifique "PREPARE: Pregnancy & Parenting with Arthritis." Part One explores pregnancy and arthritis, with many panel speakers including Cristina Montoya, Nazret Russon, Shani Ellis-Alman, Dr. Neda Amiri, Dr. Mary De Vera, and Dr. Vienna Cheng.
On June 8th, we held Part Two of our Cafe Scientifique, "PREPARE: Pregnancy and Parenting with Arthritis." We held this in collaboration with the University of British Columbia and Arthritis Research Canada and supported by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. We heard from Ashley Hayward about "She Walks With Me," a project on urban Indigenous doulas. We also learned about parenting with arthritis from an occupational therapy lens from Catherine Backman.
